School of Environmental Studies, Federal Polytechnic Ede


Architectural Department of Federal Polytechnic Ede runs two Diploma Programmes at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Levels. Students enrolled in this department at the ND level are entitled to 4 months Student Industrial Work Experience (SIWES) and a compulsory One year Industrial Attachment (IT) programme.

At the ND level, the students are trained to become Architectural Technicians and are expected to interpret architectural design in innovation technology. Prospective students of this department are expected to be resourceful, genuinely inquisitive with natural affinity for excellence and endowed with stamina for hardwork.

At the HND level, the students are trained to become Architectural Technologist for diverse career options owing to the fact that Architectural Technology is the Science and technology aspect of architectural and building construction - an indispensable link between concept and construction.

Prospective candidates must have strong communication, leadership and organizational skills whether working in a team or alone with great disposition to work with hands (indoor or outdoor). Also high level of creativity, innovativeness, vision, ability to work unde extreme pressure (time, cost, etc) and keen commitment to continous self-improvement are needed qualities.
